Mission Statement

We will strive to produce, and show the highest quality purebred Maine Anjou Cattle possible. While preserving all ethical standards in place by the American National Maine Anjou Association.

History

Next Generation Show Cattle was formed in October 2002 as a limited liability partnership between Wayne Harris and Dorothy Harris. Our herd began with the purchase of a single purebred heifer purchased from DeRouchey Cattle Company in Pukawana South Dakota. We added to the herd with an additional purchase of two bred heifers in January of 2003 purchased from Kopp Land and Livestock in Batesville, Indiana. In March of 2003 one of the Kopp heifers produced a heifer calf thus bringing our total to four head. We also purchased five additional head from DeJong Ranch in Kennebec, South Dakota in Oct 2003.

To insure we maintain top quality animals we are involved in an extensive show program. This begins at the Jefferson County Fair where the youngest heifer was Grand Champion Feeder Calf Heifer in 2003, and continues on a statewide circuit until early June of the following year. We believe that maintaining a major show presence is imperative to informing potential customers of the quality of livestock that we have available for their purchase.
